IFSTSL successfully organized an online training program titled ‘Research & Research Publication in Science’, aimed at guiding participants through the comprehensive journey from research planning to successful publication. The program was conducted over four consecutive Saturdays, from April 26 to May 17, 2025, with two-hour sessions each week, totaling eight hours of focused, expert-led training.
The program commenced with an insightful session on Research Planning and Problem Identification, delivered by Prof. Ananda Chandrasekara, who emphasized the significance of selecting a meaningful and researchable problem. On the second day, the focus was directed to Literature Review and Hypothesis Development, a session jointly conducted by Prof. Upali Samarajeewa and Dr. Sharmila Jayatilake, providing participants with strategies for conducting effective literature reviews and formulating strong research hypotheses. The third day featured a session on Data Generation and Analysis, led by Prof. Upali Samarajeewa, highlighting key methodologies and analytical tools essential for producing reliable and valid research findings. The final session covered Manuscript Writing and Journal Selection, presented jointly by Prof. Upali Samarajeewa and Dr. Nimsha Weerakkody, offering practical guidance on structuring a research article and choosing appropriate journals for publication.
This comprehensive training program successfully provided participants with valuable knowledge and skills necessary for conducting and publishing quality scientific research. The successfully completed participants were awarded an e-certificate.
